Orphan Joy Programs.

1. Friends Without Borders (pictures)
This program is a letter writing campaign between the Orphan's in Romania and caring individuals here in the States. The sponsors here in the States write letters to the children in Romania and the children write back. We give each sponsor a picture and profile of the child. The profile has personal information about the child. These children never receive letters from anyone, and a letter from someone in the States is a very big event for them. This program is a way to bring some joy into the lives of these precious children and also is a way to have Christians praying for specific needs in the lives of the children. If you would like to participate we would be glad to send you some information.

2. English Classes (pictures)
Every other week at the Orphanage in Iasi, we have English classes with around 20 students. An American missionary named Naomi who lives in Iasi and volunteers for us teaches the classes. The children love learning English, and it will help them later in life.

3. Euro Market (pictures)
Every 3 month's we hold a market at the Orphanage called The Euro Market. During our weekly activities at the Orphanage, our President and the volunteers give out play money in Euro's. When the children behave well and help clean up after all the activities they receive these Euro's. Every third month we hold a market at the Orphanage where the children can come and buy everything from school supplies to toy's. With this program they learn to save and spend money wisely. They get to make deals with our volunteers who work behind the counters.

4. Saturday Activities (pictures)
Every Saturday Luci our President and all of our volunteers go to the Orphanage for activities with the children. This is our most important program because it allows us to interact with the children, and learn more about them. We usually have various games, crafts, sporting events, contests, and anything fun. The children and all of our volunteers always look forward to this time. It is a way to give them some individual attention that they desperately lack.

5. Pet Project (pictures)
One of our volunteers who is an American Missionary named Curtis raises Rabbits. He donated a Rabbit to the Orphanage for the children to take care of. By taking care of this Rabbit the children are able to learn basic responsibilities. They are in charge of feeding, watering and all that goes along with having a pet.

6. Holiday Projects (pictures)
On all the major Holiday's in Romania we have a special celebration for the children. At Christmas, we give out presents and have a big Christmas party. At Easter we make Easter eggs and talk to them about the Resurrection of Christ. We always have a celebration on all major holiday's.

7. Happy Birthday (pictures)
Every month at the Orphanage we have a birthday party for everyone whose birthday falls on that month. We buy all the ingredients for the cakes and the older girls at the Orphanage make the cakes. Everyone who has a birthday is invited to the party along with one friend that they are allowed to bring. It is important for the children to be acknowledged on their birthday. They need to know that they are important to us and to God.

8. Weekend Trips (pictures)
On special occasions we take trips with the children. It is important to get them out into the world. Sometimes we take them into the city or to the park. We will take smaller groups on trips to other cities to visit museums or other cultural sites. They are always extremely excited about going somewhere different.

9. Activities at Timothy House. (pictures)
We have weekly activities at our Youth Center. The older youth come to do various activities. We have dinners where the youth are required to help prepare the meals. We all sit as a family and enjoy dinners with them. They learn manners and get to enjoy a dinner as a family. We have classes on computers, sewing classes, etc. Sometime the older youth stop buy just to visit. It is a great way to listen to them, and give them much need attention and advice they might need.

10. Orphanage Support (pictures)
We support the local Orphanage with anything they might need. Our President fixes their computers when they are broke. We are able to buy them things that they need for the office. We are planning on building a shelter by the playground and also a basketball court. As the Lord provides the funds, we are able to help in anyway we can. This gives us credibility with the officials, and also is a big help for the children.
